Session Formats

  • One-Hour Education Sessions (In-Person Only): Sessions feature either individual lectures or small panel discussions (up to four speakers) that explore timely and relevant topics in the park and recreation field. All one-hour education sessions are presented live on-site, with select sessions also pre-recorded for Virtual Conference.
  • Speed Sessions: Fast-paced, focused talks are designed to inform and inspire, covering a wide range of trends in parks and recreation. All speed sessions are pre-recorded for the Virtual Conference and presented live on-site. Visit the two speed session booths on the exhibit hall floor to watch the sessions and engage with speakers through live Q&A.
  • NRPA’s Virtual Conference: Offers a set of one-hour education sessions and 20-minute speed sessions. All Virtual Conference sessions can be accessed on-demand through the conference app and will be available for 60 days after the conference.

Education sessions for the NRPA Annual Conference are selected by the Conference Program Committee (CPC). The CPC is a dedicated group of professionals from around the country, representing all regions, specialties, and content areas that recruits, reviews, and selects education sessions for the annual conference.

Please note: The conference schedule is subject to change.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Earn up to 1.4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by attending the in-person or virtual conference. CEUs can be earned based on the number of sessions attended during the 2026 NRPA Annual Conference and sessions viewed virtually/on-demand. Attendees can earn .04 CEUs for each Speed Session and .1 CEUs for each 1-hour education session. Attendees are required to attend entire sessions and complete session evaluations to obtain CEU credit.
